A detritivore, also called a decomposer, is an organism that feeds on dead organic material. There are two types of detritivores: prokaryotes and fungi. The mushroom, as pictured here, is part of the fungi group.
Ectotherm means an animal that cannot maintain a stable internal temperature. It must rely on an external source of body heat. The picture shows an reptile, a lizard, which is an example of an ectotherm.
Endotherm means an animal that is independent and capable of generating an internal heat source. Warm blooded animals such as humans, pictured here, are prime examples of an endotherm.
In flowering plants, an ovary is a part of the female reproductive organ of a flower. It's part of the pistil which holds the ovules and is located near/at the point of connection with the base of the petals and sepals. Gymnosperms are the non-flowering plants, such pine. There are both male and female cones, the male cone is called the pollen cone. The picture shows a male gymnosperm cone.
Homeostasis is the ability to maintain a stable internal environment. Dogs do not have sweat glands, so in order to maintain a stable internal temperature they pant. This is shown in the picture.
